Agora, s\u00f3 faltam 13 km para que o iceberg se desprenda completamente&#8221;, diz \u00e0 BBC Adrian Luckman, professor da Universidade de Swansea, no Reino Unido.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"9\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Ele acrescenta que a fissura pode estar &#8220;muito pr\u00f3xima&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"9\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Mas Luckman ressalva que nada ainda \u00e9 totalmente data-track-links=\"\">Os registros foram feitos com a ajuda de radares por causa do in\u00edcio do rigoroso inverno, quando a Ant\u00e1rtica permanece praticamente no escuro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-track-links=\"\">Depois de ter avan\u00e7ado em dezembro, o ritmo de aumento estacionou depois que a fenda entrou na chamada zona de &#8220;sutura&#8221;, uma regi\u00e3o de gelo flex\u00edvel e mole.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"25\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Mas o cen\u00e1rio mudou no in\u00edcio do m\u00eas passado, quando a ponta da rachadura bifurcou, e a nova ponta mudou de dire\u00e7\u00e3o rumo ao data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Isso n\u00e3o deve acontecer rapidamente porque o Mar de Wedell \u00e9 repleto de gelo, mas tenho certeza de que ser\u00e1 mais r\u00e1pido do que todo o processo de ruptura dos \u00faltimos meses. As plataformas de gelo s\u00e3o as por\u00e7\u00f5es da Ant\u00e1rtica onde a camada de gelo est\u00e1 sobre o oceano e n\u00e3o sobre a terra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"18\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Segundo cientistas, o descolamento do iceberg pode deixar toda a plataforma Larsen C vulner\u00e1vel a uma ruptura futura.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"20\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">A plataforma tem espessura de 350 m e est\u00e1 localizada na ponta oeste da Ant\u00e1rtica, impedindo a dissipa\u00e7\u00e3o do gelo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"37\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Os pesquisadores v\u00eam acompanhando a rachadura na Larsen C h\u00e1 muitos anos. Recentemente, por\u00e9m, eles passaram a observ\u00e1-la mais atentamente por causa de rupturas das plataformas de gelo Larsen A, em 1995, e Larsen B, em 2002.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"14\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">No ano passado, cientistas afirmaram que a rachadura na Larsen C estava aumentando rapidamente.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"17\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Mas, em dezembro, o ritmo aumentou a patamares nunca antes vistos, avan\u00e7ando 18 km em duas semanas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles\" data-block-type=\"raw\" data-block-weight=\"2\">\n<div class=\"content-intertitle\">\n<h2>Aquecimento global<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"24\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Os cientistas dizem, no entanto, que o fen\u00f4meno \u00e9 geogr\u00e1fico e n\u00e3o clim\u00e1tico.
