A regi\u00e3o possui algumas das mais antigas rochas sedimentares conhecidas da Terra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"37\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Gra\u00e7as a imagens a laser das amostras coletadas, n\u00f3s identificamos microorganismos f\u00f3sseis, que s\u00e3o os mais antigos conhecidos no mundo&#8221;, declarou Matthew Dodd, da UCL (University College London), em um v\u00eddeo postado no site da revista &#8220;Nature&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"47\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Antes da descoberta desta quarta, os microf\u00f3sseis mais antigos relatados haviam sido encontrados na Austr\u00e1lia, com cerca de 3,4 bilh\u00f5es de anos. Neste caso, no entanto, os cientistas acreditam que o material pode ter sido afetado por quest\u00f5es n\u00e3o-biol\u00f3gicas nas rochas &#8211; temperatura e press\u00e3o, por exemplo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles\" data-block-type=\"raw\" data-block-weight=\"2\">\n<div class=\"content-intertitle\">\n<h2>Pesquisadores questionam<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"50\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Em entrevista \u00e0 BBC, a pesquisadora Nicola McLoughlin, da Universidade de Rhodes, na \u00c1frica do Sul, disse que o estudo foi minucioso, mas n\u00e3o o suficiente para provar que as estruturas eram de origem biol\u00f3gica. &#8220;A morfologia destes filamentos oxidentes de ferro do nordeste do Canad\u00e1 n\u00e3o \u00e9 convincente&#8221;, disse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"50\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Tanja Bosak, do Instituto de Tecnologia de Massachusetts (MIT), nos Estados Unidos, disse que est\u00e1 faltando uma evid\u00eancia chave para a descoberta, em entrevista ao &#8220;The Washington Post&#8221;. Segundo ela, os autores n\u00e3o incluem uma imagem ampla do local onde os f\u00f3sseis foram encontrados, ou uma explica\u00e7\u00e3o do cen\u00e1rio geol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"18\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\"
