Eles constru\u00edram um &#8220;telesc\u00f3pio virtual&#8221; do tamanho da Terra ao ligar transmissores de r\u00e1dio a partir de Boston, nos Estados Unidos, para pontos no Polo Sul, no Hava\u00ed, nas Am\u00e9ricas e na Europa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"48\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">H\u00e1 um grande otimismo de que as observa\u00e7\u00f5es, a serem conduzidas entre 5 e 14 de abril, possam finalmente revelar a t\u00e3o aguardada imagem. Na mira do chamado &#8220;Event Horizon Telescope&#8221; (Telesc\u00f3pio de Horizonte de Eventos ou EHT) estar\u00e1 o monstruoso buraco negro no centro da nossa gal\u00e1xia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"21\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">O objeto, catalogado como Sagittarius A*, nunca foi diretamente observado. Mas acredita-se na sua exist\u00eancia devido ao movimento de estrelas pr\u00f3ximas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"33\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Elas se movimentam em torno de um ponto no espa\u00e7o a uma velocidade de milhares de quil\u00f4metros por segundo, sugerindo que o buraco tenha uma massa quatro milh\u00f5es de vezes a do Sol.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles\" data-block-type=\"raw\" data-block-weight=\"3\">\n<div class=\"content-intertitle\">\n<h2>&#8216;Horizonte de eventos&#8217;<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"42\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Por\u00e9m, por mais gigante que pare\u00e7a ser, o &#8220;horizonte de eventos&#8221; &#8211; ou a &#8220;borda&#8221; do buraco onde a for\u00e7a gravitacional \u00e9 t\u00e3o forte que nem a luz consegue escapar &#8211; n\u00e3o deve ter mais que 20 milh\u00f5es de quil\u00f4metros de di\u00e2metro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"28\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">A uma dist\u00e2ncia de 26 mil anos-luz da Terra, o Sagittarius A* \u00e9 apenas um min\u00fasculo ponto no c\u00e9u. A equipe do EHT est\u00e1, mesmo assim, bastante otimista.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"20\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;H\u00e1 uma grande emo\u00e7\u00e3o&#8221;, disse o diretor do projeto Sheperd Doeleman, do Centro para Astrof\u00edsica de Harvard-Smithsonian, em Cambridge, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"37\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Estamos trabalhando no telesc\u00f3pio virtual h\u00e1 quase duas d\u00e9cadas, e em abril vamos fazer as observa\u00e7\u00f5es que esperamos ser as primeiras a trazer o &#8216;horizonte de eventos&#8217; do buraco negro em foco&#8221;, ele disse \u00e0 BBC News.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"51\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">O truque do EHT \u00e9 uma t\u00e9cnica chamada Interferometria de Longa Linha de Base (VLBI na sigla em ingl\u00eas). Ela combina uma rede bastante ampla de radiotelesc\u00f3pios de v\u00e1rios pontos da Terra criando um telesc\u00f3pio virtual gigante capaz de produzir a resolu\u00e7\u00e3o necess\u00e1ria para observar o buraco negro distante no espa\u00e7o.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"35\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">O EHT tem como objetivo inicialmente chegar a uma precis\u00e3o de 50 microarco-segundos. Segundo a equipe, isto significa que o telesc\u00f3pio conseguiria capturar a imagem de uma laranja na superf\u00edcie da Lua vista da Terra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"19\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Eles ressaltam que ainda haver\u00e1 anos de intenso trabalho, mas veem pela frente a perspectiva de uma iminente descoberta.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles\" data-block-type=\"raw\" data-block-weight=\"3\">\n<div class=\"content-intertitle\">\n<h2>Equa\u00e7\u00f5es de Einstein<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"25\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Os cientistas fazem uma ideia do que esperam ver.
