Um artigo da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), publicado no jornal cient\u00edfico brit\u00e2nico\u00a0<em>Biology Letters\u00a0<\/em>nesta quarta-feira (26), prop\u00f5e a hip\u00f3tese de que\u00a0<span class=\"highlight highlighted\">parentes distantes desses dinossauros, encarados at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o como \u201clinhagens fantasmas\u201d, podem ser considerados ancestrais de fato<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wall protected-content\">\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"54\" data-block-id=\"3\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Na \u00e1rvore evolutiva dos dinossauros, dois grupos se destacam: os ornit\u00edsquios e os\u00a0<strong>saur\u00edsquios\u00a0<\/strong>(como o\u00a0<strong>tiranossauro rex<\/strong>\u00a0e o\u00a0<strong>velociraptor<\/strong>). O segundo \u00e9 bastante encontrado nos tr\u00eas per\u00edodos da era mesoz\u00f3ica \u2014 Tri\u00e1ssico, Jur\u00e1ssico e Cret\u00e1ceo, informa o estudo. O primeiro, no entanto, tem escassez de f\u00f3sseis no per\u00edodo mais \u201cantigo\u201d, o Tri\u00e1ssico.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"50\" data-block-id=\"4\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">At\u00e9 o momento, a sugest\u00e3o de que os ornit\u00edsquios surgiram mesmo no Tri\u00e1ssico se d\u00e1 por esp\u00e9cies semelhantes mas de caracter\u00edsticas diferentes, que n\u00e3o eram considerados dinossauros. Agora, com o estudo da dupla, os antepassados primitivos do triceratops, os silessaur\u00eddeos, podem ter sido reconhecidos como \u201cparentes pr\u00f3ximos\u201d.\u00a0<em>(Veja nas ilustra\u00e7\u00f5es)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"41\" data-block-id=\"5\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">\u201cAlgumas formas [de f\u00f3sseis] come\u00e7am a acumular caracter\u00edsticas que v\u00e3o estar presentes nos ornit\u00edsquios, muitas relacionas \u00e0 denti\u00e7\u00e3o e algumas a ossos do cr\u00e2nio. Entre eles,\u00a0<span class=\"highlight highlighted\">o\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"highlight highlighted\"><em>Sacisaurus agudoensis<\/em><\/span><span class=\"highlight highlighted\">, um pequeno animal que viveu cerca de 225 milh\u00f5es de anos atr\u00e1s e foi encontrado em Agudo<\/span>, na Regi\u00e3o Central.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"49\" data-block-id=\"9\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Ao todo, a dupla fez mais de 17 mil pontua\u00e7\u00f5es em uma matriz de dados para chegar a esta conclus\u00e3o. M\u00fcller conta que foram analisadas 277 caracter\u00edsticas de esqueleto de 62 esp\u00e9cies. Com a pesquisa, ele espera que ideias anteriores possam ser revisadas e ajudar a orientar novas descobertas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"39\" data-block-id=\"10\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Tem muitas hip\u00f3teses vigentes. Em certos aspectos, esta \u00e9 mais plaus\u00edvel, em outras, n\u00e3o. Vamos testar nas v\u00e1rias matrizes e ver o resultado. Mas tem um impacto, sim, porque a origem dos dinossauros \u00e9 bem debatida&#8221;, afirma o paleont\u00f3logo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"45\" data-block-id=\"11\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Outra novidade que a hip\u00f3tese alternativa revelou foi que os ancestrais dos ornit\u00edsquios eram, possivelmente, carn\u00edvoros. O mesmo padr\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m tem sido observado no grupo dos sauropodomorfos (os gigante pesco\u00e7udos, como o bontossauro), que teriam sido originados de um ancestral pequeno, b\u00edpede e
