Com o derretimento cada vez mais intenso, por\u00e9m, as \u00e1guas menos geladas dos mares poder\u00e3o invadir a fenda e acelerar ainda mais o derretimento \u2013 transformando o c\u00e2nion em uma verdadeira tumba para o glacial Denman. Mais do que simplesmente ver desaparecer uma parte de Ant\u00e1rtica, o quadro mais agravado, no qual o glacial se tornaria integralmente em \u00e1gua, faria elevar o n\u00edvel do mar em 1,5 metros
