A transposi\u00e7\u00e3o do Rio S\u00e3o Francisco \u00e9 a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de dois grandes canais (um Eixo Norte e um Eixo Leste, totalizando 477 km em obras) que levam \u00e1guas desse rio essencial para o Nordeste brasileiro at\u00e9 outra \u00e1rea, tradicionalmente bem mais seca.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-ads content-ads--reveal\" data-block-type=\"ads\" data-block-id=\"6\">\n<div id=\"banner_materia2\" class=\"tag-manager-publicidade-container mc-has-reveal mc-has-ad-lazyload tag-manager-publicidade-banner_materia2 tag-manager-publicidade-container--carregado tag-manager-publicidade-container--visivel\" data-id=\"banner_materia2\" data-google-query-id=\"CJW3qP2kyuYCFcIFuQYd-JcIdQ\" data-cid=\"138297483338\" data-lid=\"4909143808\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/95377733\/tvg_G1\/Natureza_2__container__\">Pequenos peixes acabam superando as grades de conten\u00e7\u00e3o e podem passar tamb\u00e9m em forma de larvas ou ovos. Diferentemente dos maiores, eles sobrevivem \u00e0s h\u00e9lices das bombas nos canais do S\u00e3o Francisco.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"41\" data-block-id=\"8\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Essas tr\u00eas esp\u00e9cies n\u00e3o s\u00e3o carn\u00edvoras. Seus nomes s\u00f3 ser\u00e3o revelados em um artigo cient\u00edfico no ano que vem. Mas os impactos dessa mudan\u00e7a de habitat de alguns peixes e a intera\u00e7\u00e3o com outras esp\u00e9cies em novas \u00e1guas ainda s\u00e3o desconhecidos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"30\" data-block-id=\"9\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Por isso, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio manter o monitoramento em m\u00e9dio e longo prazos, conforme contou ao\u00a0<strong>G1<\/strong>\u00a0o pesquisador em Ci\u00eancias da Terra e Meio Ambiente, Augusto Lu\u00eds Bentinho Silva.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"70\" data-block-id=\"10\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Com uma equipe formada por cinco profissionais ele trabalha no laborat\u00f3rio do Centro de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e Manejo de Fauna (Cemafauna), que fica no Campus de Ci\u00eancias Agr\u00e1rias da Univasf, em Petrolina (PE), e monitora dezenas de pontos nas bacias da regi\u00e3o. O Cemafauna faz um trabalho de observa\u00e7\u00e3o da fauna na regi\u00e3o da transposi\u00e7\u00e3o do S\u00e3o Francisco desde 2008. Isso inclui a chamada &#8220;ictiofauna&#8221;, ou seja, o conjunto de peixes das bacias doadoras e daquelas receptoras de \u00e1guas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"33\" data-block-id=\"15\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Al\u00e9m de seu importante papel ambiental, os peixes s\u00e3o o sustento de popula\u00e7\u00f5es ribeirinhas: as \u00e1guas do S\u00e3o Francisco s\u00e3o usadas tanto para a pesca quanto para encher a\u00e7udes, especialmente nas bacias receptoras.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"81\" data-block-id=\"16\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Os peixes de rios e a\u00e7udes do semi\u00e1rido j\u00e1 sofreram grandes impactos gerados pela atividade humana. A redu\u00e7\u00e3o das matas \u00e0s margens dos rios, a pr\u00e1tica da a\u00e7udagem e, principalmente, a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de peixes de outras regi\u00f5es causaram in\u00fameras altera\u00e7\u00f5es diretas e indiretas na sua composi\u00e7\u00e3o&#8221;, diz o Relat\u00f3rio de Impactos Ambientais (Rima) do ent\u00e3o Minist\u00e9rio da Integra\u00e7\u00e3o Nacional (hoje Minist\u00e9rio do Desenvolvimento Regional, MDR). Ele indicava que seria essencial monitorar a natureza em toda a \u00e1rea de influ\u00eancia da transposi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"30\" data-block-id=\"17\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Bentinho Silva revelou que h\u00e1 esp\u00e9cies de peixes que n\u00e3o existiam na bacia do Rio Para\u00edba, mas que, agora, por causa da transposi\u00e7\u00e3o do Rio S\u00e3o Francisco, j\u00e1 s\u00e3o encontradas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"44\" data-block-id=\"18\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;S\u00e3o tr\u00eas esp\u00e9cies que ocorriam s\u00f3 no S\u00e3o Francisco, mas passaram pelas barreiras dos canais e agora aparecem tamb\u00e9m no Para\u00edba. Elas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o carn\u00edvoras. Por isso, num primeiro momento n\u00e3o parece que estejam causando dano nas esp\u00e9cies que s\u00e3o do local receptor&#8221;, afirma.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles\" data-block-type=\"raw\" data-block-weight=\"2\" data-block-id=\"20\">\n<div class=\"content-intertitle\">\n<h2>Impactos imprevis\u00edveis<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"36\" data-block-id=\"21\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Segundo Bentinho Silva, as pesquisas ainda n\u00e3o encontraram peixes jovens de esp\u00e9cies carn\u00edvoras ap\u00f3s as esta\u00e7\u00f5es de bombeamento dos canais. Isso indica que, por enquanto, as larvas e ovos de peixes grandes parecem n\u00e3o estar passando.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"45\" data-block-id=\"22\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Ele alerta, no entanto, que \u00e9 preciso manter o trabalho de monitoramento no longo prazo para conhecer os poss\u00edveis impactos dessa nova intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre peixes de diferentes esp\u00e9cies. &#8220;Precisamos de, no m\u00ednimo, mais dez anos de trabalho para ter uma vis\u00e3o melhor dessa situa\u00e7\u00e3o&#8221;, diz.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"37\" data-block-id=\"23\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">A pesquisa \u00e9 financiada pelo Minist\u00e9rio do Desenvolvimento Regional. A ideia inicial era que nenhum peixe passasse pelas esta\u00e7\u00f5es de bombeamento.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"17\" data-block-id=\"30\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Por\u00e9m, ainda assim, peixes menores, larvas e ovos podem acabar passando pelas h\u00e9lices das bombas da transposi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"43\" data-block-id=\"31\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;As grades s\u00e3o uma tentativa de mitigar o impacto. Desde 2014, quando houve o primeiro bombeamento das \u00e1guas, a gente tamb\u00e9m percebeu uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o na mortalidade dos peixes&#8221;, explica Bentinho Silva. Isso porque, sem a grade, alguns peixes maiores acabariam batendo nas h\u00e9lices.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"41\" data-block-id=\"32\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">A equipe de apenas cinco pesquisadores (tr\u00eas bi\u00f3logos e dois veterin\u00e1rios) pretende publicar, no ano que vem, um artigo cient\u00edfico detalhando as descobertas. Por esse motivo, eles n\u00e3o podem divulgar ainda os nomes das esp\u00e9cies migrantes j\u00e1 confirmadas na pesquisa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles\" data-block-type=\"raw\" data-block-weight=\"30\" data-block-id=\"33\">\n<blockquote class=\"content-blockquote theme-border-color-primary-before\"><p>&#8220;Pode ser que haja outras esp\u00e9cies que est\u00e3o conseguindo passar, mas ainda n\u00e3o as identificamos no nosso monitoramento. Esse instrumento, segundo Bentinho Silva, n\u00e3o mataria os animais que encostassem na grade, pois a voltagem el\u00e9trica \u00e9 bem baixa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"47\" data-block-id=\"40\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Mas isso causa um atordoamento nos peixes e serviria para tentar fazer com que fossem em dire\u00e7\u00e3o oposta ao bombeamento&#8221;, conta. Essa estrat\u00e9gia j\u00e1 \u00e9 usada em pequenas centrais hidrel\u00e9tricas, mas, conforme explica o pesquisador, nunca foi aplicada em um local com essa enorme vaz\u00e3o de \u00e1gua.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"51\" data-block-id=\"41\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;Cada campo de \u00e1gua tem sua caracter\u00edstica. A salinidade influencia na eletricidade, e as caracter\u00edsticas da \u00e1gua variam de um lugar para outro. S\u00f3 alguns exemplares s\u00e3o levados para o dep\u00f3sito da cole\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica da Univasf e servir\u00e3o para o estudo dos peixes dessas regi\u00f5es&#8221;, afirma Bentinho Silva.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"13\" data-block-id=\"54\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">Em laborat\u00f3rio, os pesquisadores analisam as caracter\u00edsticas reprodutivas e alimentares de cada peixe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"47\" data-block-id=\"55\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;J\u00e1 temos catalogadas as esp\u00e9cies, sabemos quais s\u00e3o as mais frequentes, quais s\u00e3o as que v\u00edamos em 2012 e as que agora n\u00e3o vemos mais, quais s\u00e3o as esp\u00e9cies dentro dos canais e as que j\u00e1 foram ou podem ir para as outras bacias&#8221;, acrescenta o cientista.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"28\" data-block-id=\"56\">\n<p class=\"content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\">&#8220;\u00c9 um trabalho a ser realizado em m\u00e9dio e longo prazos.
